"I arrived on Mackinac Island for the first time in the spring of 1980 and encountered the nostalgic tranquility that some dreams are made of. Grand Hotel in it's natural setting and elegance seemed to seize my spirit and give it new life. I've held that spirit for the island and the hotel over the years as I've performed on many occasions. All of the musicians on this recording are people that I have performed with. Most of them have appeared with me at the Grand Hotel. The energy and enthusiasm they brought with them make this project one that I will always remember as a special musical and loving experience."
